Monitoring of Dry Bands and Discharge Activities at the Surface of Textured Insulators with AC Clean Fog Test Conditions

The aim of this study is the presentation results an in-lab comparative electrical and thermal monitoring artificially polluted, HTV-textured silicone rubber insulators, with different pollution levels. This work a preliminary in-situ 400 kV SiR textured in polluted environment. showed that rms leakage current magnitude pulses, average dissipated power depended on levels dry-bands formation. discharge activity their nature are governed by level voltage. A differentiation quantification between dry-band onset arc inception highlighted.
